Behind a wild eight-run first inning that included three defensive blunders by the District 4 entry, Bishop McCort slapped 13 hits in all and chased Raiders ace Garrett Shnyder after four frantic frames. Shnyder only allowed 1 earned run -- yes, McCort's eight-run surge to open the battle at Penn State's Medlar Field was all unearned -- but was tagged hard for eight hits. Pitcher Jesse Cooper steered the Crushers, capping an 11-1 campaign with three hits and three RBIs from his lead-off post. Nemo Varga (three RBIs) and Christian Leech (3-for-4) also weighed in. Cooper, a Seton Hill recruit, held the Raiders (21-3) to five hits in the five-inning decision. Kyle Russell's two hits paced Montgomery.
