FROM KEITH GROLLER
It is with sadness that we learned the news tonight that Mary Tracy, wife of legendary Whitehall basketball coach Dick Tracy, passed away after a lengthy illness.
The two were devoted to each other and there was no bigger supporter of her husband and Whitehall basketball in that glorious era than Mrs. Tracy.
The Zephyrs had no bigger rooter and she let the officials know where she was sitting at every Whitehall home game.
Tracy treated his players like family and everyone associated with the program came to know Mrs. Tracy, who became a beloved figure in the basketball community.
Coach Tracy took great care of her in recent years as her health deteriorated. It is one of the reasons why he was no longer working the games for RCN.
I am sure the RCN TV family as well as the entire Whitehall basketball community sends along its sympathies to the entire Tracy family and I am sure Coach Tracy will be surrounded by his former players and coaches in the difficult days ahead.
