Pop TV, now fully owned by CBS Corporation, announced that the critically-acclaimed series One Day at a Time will continue with a new 13-episode fourth season premiering in 2020 after its Netflix concluded after three seasons. The Network shared the news amid fan campaigns rallying behind the series. Produced by Sony Pictures Television, the fourth season of One Day at a Time will air exclusively on Pop. As part of the innovative deal to pick up the new season, One Day at a Time will also be broadcast on the CBS Television Network later in 2020, following its run on Pop. CBS was the home of the original series that aired over 40 years ago.

Actor Max Wright, who was best known for his role as Willie Tanner in ALF, has died. He died on June 26 from lymphoma at his home in Hermosa Beach, California. Mr. Wright was 75.

Comedy Central, the #1 brand in comedy, announced the greenlight of Good Talk with Anthony Jeselnik, a comedic interview series that will premiere on Friday, September 6 at 11 p.m. ET/PT. Each episode will feature an interview with one of Anthony's friends - who happen to be some of the best comedians in the business - as they discuss all things comedy. Over the course of six episodes, Jeselnik will sit down with David Spade, Kristen Schaal, Kumail Nanjiani, Natasha Leggero, Nick Kroll, and Tig Notaro. In Good Talk, Jeselnik switches gears from his signature acerbic style for tongue-in-cheek interviews with his fellow comedians about their careers, influences and what it's like to live in his massive shadow. Jeselnik and his guests center their extremely funny conversations around stand up, stories and bits and participate in elegantly bizarre studio segments.

Fox has set the fall premiere dates for its new and returning series. Kicking off the new season, the 71st Primetime Emmy Awards(R) will air LIVE coast-to-coast from the Microsoft Theater at L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles on Sunday, Sept. 22 (8:00-11:00 PM ET live/5:00-8:00 PM PT live). Hit drama 9-1-1 returns for its third season on Monday, Sept. 23 at 8:00 PM ET/PT, followed by the series premiere of crime drama Prodigal Son at 9:00 PM ET/PT, starring Tom Payne, Emmy Award and Golden Globe nominee Michael Sheen, Bellamy Young and Lou Diamond Phillips. All-new Tuesdays begin Sept. 24, with the sixth and final season premiere of Empire at 9:00 PM ET/PT, following the Season Three return of The Resident at 8:00PM ET/PT. On Wednesday, Sept. 25, television's #1 new series, The Masked Singer, returns with a special two-hour season premiere from 8:00-10:00 PM ET/PM. Antenna TV is doing a summer stunt on Friday nights! Starting Friday, July 5, Antenna TV will air Barney Miller every Friday evening from 7-10pm. Barney Miller airs weeknights from 9-10pm ET and Saturdays from 8-9pm ET on Antenna TV, so it is being expanded on Friday nights. The '70s sitcom was set in a New York City Police Department police station on East 6th St in Greenwich Village. The sitcom starred Hal Linden, Abe Vigoda, Max Gail, Ron Glass, Jack Soo, James Gregory, Steve Landesberg and Ron Carey. This change is in addition to the schedule change we mentioned last week that brought changes to Saturday afternoons and a minor weekday change.

Fresh off of its blazing-hot first season, WarnerMedia's truTV announced the second season order for Tacoma FD, the scripted comedy series from co-creators and stars Kevin Heffernan and Steve Lemme of the Super Troopers movie franchise. Tacoma FD launched as the #1 new cable comedy among young adults when it premiered earlier this year and finishes among cable's top 5 scripted comedies. The 13-episode second season order will go in to pre-production later this year and is slated for release in 2020.

CBS unveiled fall premiere dates last Friday, now we have some other networks as well. NBC has unveiled premiere dates for the 2019-20 season that features two innovative new Thursday comedies (Perfect Harmony and Sunnyside on Sept. 26) and an inspiring new Monday legal family drama starring TV icon Jimmy Smits (Bluff City Law on Sept. 23). The three freshman shows are novel additions to an incredibly stable lineup that includes the four-time Emmy Award-winning music competition series The Voice (Sept. 23 8-10pm and Sept. 24 8-9pm), cultural phenomenon This Is Us (Sept. 24 at 9pm), first-year sensation New Amsterdam (Sept. 24 at 10pm), a power-packed Wednesday lineup of Chicago dramas (Sept. 25 8-11pm) that each just delivered their most-watched seasons ever, and beloved Thursday comedy favorites Superstore and The Good Place (Sept. 26), the latter of which is set to begin its victory lap in this, its final season. Staple Law & Order: SVU launches another season on Sept. 26 at 10pm. All premieres will be week of Monday, September 23 during "Premiere Week" except The Blacklist season premiere will be in week two on Friday, October 4 at 8pm. An encore of the premiere of Bluff City Law will air on Friday, Sept. 27 at 8pm.

Netflix has ordered Prank Encounters, an epic hidden-camera prank show hosted by 16 year old Gaten Matarazzo (Stranger Things). Each episode of this terrifying and hilarious prank show takes two complete strangers who each think they're starting their first day at a new job. It's business as usual until their paths collide and these part-time jobs turn into full-time nightmares. Prank Encounters launches later this year and eight episodes have been ordered from executive producers Gaten Matarazzo, Ben Silverman, Howard T. Owens, and Kevin Healey for Propagate; Rob Hyde (Terrence Howard's Fright Club, Troy). Anthony Gonzalez (Dance Moms, Undercover Boss) directs.

This past week, it was announced that NBC's The Good Place will be ending after its upcoming fourth season. I had two district reactions to this news. On one hand, I'm incredibly sad that we are only getting one more season of what has been the best comedy on TV for the past few years, and one of the most creative and imaginative sitcoms of the decade. I'm a bit of a traditionalist with sitcoms - if it were up to me, every good sitcom would air 22 episodes a year and run for 6 or more seasons. I just like the comfort that sitcoms offer, even if the quality of them admittedly gets spotty as they grow long in the tooth. So the selfish part of me wanted The Good Place to stick around for years and years.

Big news out of the Annecy International Animated Film Festival: a brand new animated series Chip 'n' Dale is currently in production and set for global release as a Disney+ Original in 2020. The 39 seven-minute episodes will feature the return of everyone's favorite chipmunk troublemakers in non-verbal, classic comedy stylings. Each of the 39 shorts will follow the ups and downs of the cutest chipmunks around living life in the big city. Combining a traditional style of animation with contemporary, comedic narratives, Chip 'n' Dale is directed by Jean Cayrol and produced by Marc du Pontavice. The series is produced by Disney Television Animation, executive produced by Disney animation veteran Bobs Gannaway (Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Planes: Fire & Rescue) with Ferrell Barron (Planes: Fire & Rescue) serving as producer. Chip 'n' Dale joins DuckTales as the second Disney Afternoon revival from the 80s/90s. DuckTales airs on Disney XD.

Celebrate "Bestivus" with TBS! On Friday, July 5, TBS is honoring 30 Years of Seinfeld with 30 classic episodes from 6am-9pm in a 30th Anniversary Marathon. Seinfeld premiered on July 5, 1989 on NBC as The Seinfeld Chronicles. The show stars Jerry Seinfeld as himself, Jason Alexander as George Costanza, Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Elaine Benes, and Michael Richards as Kramer. The TBS marathon linear schedule is below.

Sophia Lillis (It, It Chapter Two, Sharp Objects) is set to lead the cast of the new comedy I Am Not Okay with This, as production begins in Pittsburgh, PA from creator/director of The End of The F***ing World and producers of Stranger Things. The series is based on the Charles Forsman graphic novel. I Am Not Okay With This is an irreverent origin story, following a teenage girl navigating the trials and tribulations of high school, all while dealing with the complexities of her family, her budding sexuality, and... mysterious superpowers just beginning to awaken from deep within her. Netflix has ordered 8 half-hour episodes. Series regulars are: Sophia Lillis (It, It Chapter Two, Sharp Objects) will play Sydney, an awkward and smart with a dry, witty, sardonic sense of humor. Wyatt Oleff (It, It Chapter Two, Guardians of the Galaxy, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2) will play Stanley Barber, adorably awkward but cool with it, Stanley is Sydney's neighbor and the polar opposite of a jock. Sofia Bryant (The Good Wife, The Code) will play Dina. Sydney's effervescent, happy, pretty, loud and funny, badass best friend. And Kathleen Rose Perkins (Episodes, You're The Worst) will play Maggie, Sydney's mother who works long hours at the local diner and has been raising her two kids on her own since the death of her husband. Aidan Wojtak-Hissong and Richard Ellis will recur in the series.

Comedy Central announced that David Spade's new late-night series, Lights Out with David Spade, premieres Monday, July 29 at 11:30 p.m. ET/PT. The series, hosted by the iconic comedian David Spade (Just Shoot Me!, Rules of Engagement, 8 Simple Rules), will follow The Daily Show with Trevor Noah Monday through Thursday each week. The series will feature Spade's signature take on the pop culture news of the day. The nightly series will include a rotating group of Spade's comedian and celebrity friends, while also incorporating sketches and field segments. Lights Out with David Spade will follow The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, which ranks #1 in share growth among daily late night talk shows in 2019 among P18-34 (+13% year over year). The #1 brand in comedy announced that Baldwin will be this year's Roastee. The Comedy Central Roast of Alec Baldwin (#BaldwinRoast) will take place in New York with the tape and airdate to be announced at a later date. The Comedy Central Roast of Alec Baldwin will be executive produced by Joel Gallen from Tenth Planet Productions, who also served as Executive Producer and Director of the Comedy Central Roasts of Bruce Willis, Rob Lowe, Justin Bieber, James Franco, Charlie Sheen, and Donald Trump, as well as the Emmy(R)-nominated Comedy Central Roast of William Shatner. Christian McLaughlin is the Executive in Charge of Production and Jordan Ellner is the Talent Producer for Comedy Central.

CBS All Access announced that its new original series Why Women Kill, a darkly comedic drama created by Marc Cherry (Desperate Housewives, Devious Maids), will premiere on Thursday, August 15. Episodes of Why Women Kill's 10-episode first season will be available on demand weekly on Thursdays exclusively for CBS All Access subscribers. Why Women Kill details the lives of three women living in three different decades: a housewife in the '60s, a socialite in the '80s and a lawyer in 2019, each dealing with infidelity in their marriages. The series will examine how the roles of women have changed, but how their reaction to betrayal...has not. Why Women Kill stars Lucy Liu, Ginnifer Goodwin and Kirby Howell-Baptiste. The cast includes Jack Davenport, Sam Jaeger, Reid Scott, Alexandra Daddario, Sadie Calvano, Leo Howard, Alicia Coppola and Katie Finneran.

The CW Network continues to bolster its growing summer slate with the addition of new series Two Sentence Horror Stories and has set its late-summer 2019 premiere dates for its growing year-round original programming schedule which includes eight all new scripted and unscripted series. Joining a summer lineup that already features 12 original series, The CW is adding a new anthology series, Two Sentence Horror Stories, with episodes featuring Nicole Kang (Batwoman), Jim Parrack (Suicide Squad) and Aleyse Shannon (Charmed), Thursday, August 8 at 8:00 and 8:30PM ET/PT. The CW's two new previously announced late summer dramas are set to premiere in July, Pandora and Bulletproof.

Comedy Central has made a schedule change that will take in effect next week. The Cleveland Show has been added to Tuesdays from 3-5pm beginning Tuesday, June 11, replacing Parks & Recreation. No other changes, but Comedy Central has announced some summer stunts in July. South Park Summer Marathons begin Wednesday, July 3 from 9am–11pm. The Office: Ryan Started the Fire (wt) airs on the 4th of July with a marathon on Thursday, July 4 from 9am–12am with Ryan-themed episodes. And finally, on the day after the 4th, The Cleveland Show Marathon airs on Friday, July 5 from 9am–9pm.
