Nazareth man appeals sentence in 2009 first-degree murder conviction FROM THE EXPRESS TIMES A 36-year-old Nazareth man convicted of killing another man on the victim's parents' front lawn is appealing his sentence. Mark Williams claims his attorneys failed to challenge the district attorney's expert witnesses at trial. New defense attorney Alex Karam petitioned Northampton County Judge Stephen Baratta to reconsider Williams' sentence of life in prison. After a four-day trial in March 2010, a jury found Williams guilty of first-degree murder for the death of Patrick O'Brien.
