http://sportsmediajournal.com/ Ratings Remain High for NBA Finals- ABC Sports and ESPN report that the overnight ratings for Game Four of the NBA Finals was 12.4, the highest since 2004 and the second highest ever on ABC. That number is up 12% from a year ago. Through four games the Finals is averaging a 11.6 rating, also the highest since 2004 and 6% over 2011. n Oklahoma City, the game delivered a 49.1 rating, the highest for an NBA game ever in the market. In Miami, the game delivered a 34.6 rating. NBC Provides Final Numbers for U.S. Open- NBC announced today that it fared well in the ratings for its coverage of this weekend’s U.S. Open Golf Championship. The final round on Sunday garnered 9.6 million viewers and a 6.0 rating, the best since 2008 and up 30% and 33% (audience and rating) from 2011. The third round on Saturday (while Tiger Woods was still in contention) gave NBC an audience of 7.6 million viewers and a 5.0 rating, up 65% and 61% respectively. That Saturday telecast was the most watched U.S. Open third round in a decade. The Golf Channel also saw significant gains in audience for its studio coverage of the tournament. DC United/New York Red Bulls MLS Game on NBCSN- The NBC SPorts Network’s (NBCSN) MLS game this weekend will pit DC United against the New York Red Bulls. Arlo White and Kyle Martino will call the game in New Jersey. Russ Thaler will host the pre-game, halftime and post-game segments. Coverage begins Sunday at 7:00p.m. ET. Jr. Welterweight Battle on ESPN’s Friday Night Fights- ESPN will feature a pair of Jr. Welterweights on this week’s Friday Night Fights. Mike Dallas, Jr. and Javier Castro will battle beginning at 9:00p.m. ET on ESPN2 with Joe Tessitore and Teddy Atlas on the call. Alex Pombo and Delvin Rodriguez will call the fights for ESPN Deportes.
