Funding gap delays road improvements near Nazareth Area Middle School

http://www.lehighvalleylive.com/nazareth/index.ssf/2012/06/funding_gap_delays_road_improv.html FROM THE EXPRESS TIMES A cost-cutting compromise plan by the Nazareth Area School District for a traffic light near the district middle school hasn't gotten the light any closer to being erected. The district agreed to put in the light at East Lawn Road and Schoeneck Avenue due to traffic from the school built in September 2009. But the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation ordered turn lanes on East Lawn Road, driving the cost up from $500,000 to more than $2 million. Prior to the school being built, the township planning commissioner predicted "horrendous" traffic, but the light remains unbuilt nearly three years after the school opened its doors.
