Lehigh Valley goes 2-0 so far in Softball Carpenter Cup opener in Philly

http://blogs.mcall.com/groller/ FROM KEITH GROLLER Thanks to some trusty correspondents, we have learned that the Lehigh Valley team defeated Delaware County 6-0 in its first Softball Carpenter Cup game today at FDR Park in Philadelphia. We also learned that LV defeated Delaware South 7-2 in its second game. No further details on that one as of 5 p.m. Here's the first game information: Joelle Morey (Becahi) and Olivia Marcks (Emmaus) combined on five-hit shutout. Morey worked the first four innings, allowing three hits with strikeouts. Marcks worked the final three. Morey also had a run-scoring double and knocked in two runs overall. Arastina Barry (Saucon Valley) had two hits and two RBIs and a leaping catch at shortstop (no surprise from her) and Morning Call player of the year Mariah Kondravy of Liberty had a two-run double.
