ESPN’s Coverage of the US Open

http://sportsmediajournal.com/ ESPN will once again provide comprehensive coverage of the 2012 U.S. Open Golf Championship. ESPN will have live coverage of the first two rounds, next Thursday and Friday, from noon to 3:00p.m. and again from 5:00p.m. to 10:00p.m. ET. An edited encore presentation from each of the first two rounds will air on ESPN2 and WatchESPN in the overnight hours from 1:00a.m. -4:oo a.m ET. and both also will air edited highlights from Saturday and Sunday’s third and final round action. If a playoff is necessary, ESPN will air the first two hours on Monday, June 18, at noon. ESPN Radio will have exclusive coverage of the tournament and SporsCenter will originate from the Olympic Club beginning next Tuesday. Chris Berman will host the live telecasts on Thursday and Friday as well as the weekend highlight programs, while Mike Tirico will call the early-day action on Thursday and Friday with Paul Azinger as analyst. Hole announcers and on course reporters include Curtis Strange, Andy North, Judy Rankin, Scott Van Pelt, Terry Gannon, Sean McDonough and Bill Kratzert. Reporter Tom Rinaldi will conduct player interviews and ESPN the Magazine columnist Rick Reilly will contribute essays.
