Bethlehem Catholic High School boys volleyball team moves into PIAA Class AA semifinals

But this year is different. The Golden Hawks advanced to the semifinals for the first time in school history by winning two of its three round-robin matches. "We were so excited after winning our second match because we knew we would be coming back for the semifinals," Bethlehem Catholic coach Jeff Koch said. "We're always packing up and leaving early. It will be nice to stick around for another night." Bethlehem Catholic, the District 11 champion, will face District 3 runner-up Dover in the semifinals at 9 a.m. District 3 champion York Suburban will face District 7 champion Ambridge in the other semifinal. York Suburban entered the postseason ranked No. 1 in the PVCA Class AA rankings while Bethlehem Catholic was No. 2. Ambridge was No. 3 and Dover was No. 6.
