Let’s analyze CBS3’s promos during The Super Bowl:
The first CBS3 promo did not show any of its personalities. It was a card that wished the viewers a Happy Super Bowl Sunday and that the following Monday should be national holiday. Cute.
Another promo used its main anchor team Chris May and Susan Barnett to talk up Eyewitness News and then the promo claimed CBS3 was Philadelphia’s most watched late night newscast. That’s true, but only in the 25-54 adult demographic Sunday - Saturday. Misleading.
CBS3 patted itself on the back for its blizzard coverage in another promo, and Kathy Orr dressed to the nines for her live shot to promote that evening’s late news.
Finally, the morning news was promoted.
