District 11 will wrestle a 14-hour day Saturday at two sites and its championship bouts Sunday night at Liberty High if weather postpones Friday's opening-round action.
The district wrestling committee today released brackets and a contingency plan for this weekend's District 11 wrestling tournaments, scheduled for Friday and Saturday at Freedom and Liberty.
Currently, first-round action and consolations are scheduled for Friday evening at Freedom in Class 2A and at Liberty in Class 3A. Semifinals are scheduled for Saturday at their respective sites, with the championship finals in both classes Saturday night at Liberty.
If Friday's preliminary-round action is postponed, the contingency schedule would be:
SATURDAY
CLASS 2A AT FREEDOM, CLASS 3A AT LIBERTY
Pigtails and preliminary round: 8:30-11:30 a.m.
Quarterfinals: 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
First-round consolations: 1:30-3 p.m.
Second-round consolations: 5-6:30 p.m.
Semifinals/third-round consolations: 6:30-9:30 p.m.
Fourth-round consolations: 9:30-10:30 p.m.
SUNDAY
CLASS 2A AND 3A AT LIBERTY
Consolation finals: 5-6:45 p.m.
Parade of champions: 7 p.m.
Championship finals: 7:15 p.m.
Again, this is a preliminary schedule.
