WPIAL WRESTLING CANCELED UNTIL TUESDAY AFTERNOON

2010 WPIAL TEAM WRESTLING FINALS NOW SCHEDULED FOR TUESDAY AFTERNOON

For a second time, the WPIAL has been forced to postpone the 2010 WPIAL Team Wrestling Championships. Originally scheduled for Saturday, the massive winter storm that blew through western Pennsylvania Friday night and Saturday morning forced the district to postpone the AA and AAA team finals until Monday. Now district officials have postponed them again until Tuesday afternoon at Fox Chapel High School. However the Class AAA Consolation Match is still scheduled to take place at Mount Pleasant High School on Monday night.

As far as the action to date, the top two seeds in Class AAA, Connellsville and Penn-Trafford were ousted from the district playoffs in the WPIAL Class AAA Semifinals Thursday night as Kiski Area and Canon-McMillan advance to fight for gold.

In Class AA, for the third straight year it will be Burrell against Shady Side Academy in the Class AA team championship. The Bucs and the Indians were winners in both Quarterfinals and Semifinals action on Wednesday night. They will face off in the title match as Burrell shoots for a record fourth straight WPIAL team crown.
