Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem extended it strong winter last week, as gamblers wagered more than $70 million in its slot machines.
According to numbers released by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, for the week of Feb. 8-14, Sands remained the state's third busiest casino, behind only Parx in Bensalem, which had $106.4 million in wagers and Harrah's Chester Downs, which took in $74 million in wagers.
Sands' gross terminal revenue, which is all the money left in its 3,250 the machines after winners are paid, was $4.9 million – its fourth-best weekly take since opening in May.
Mount Airy Casino Resort, in Monroe County, recorded wagers of $41.6 million and gross terminal revenue of $2.9 million.
Statewide, gamblers wagered $560 million, leaving $42.7 million in the machines at nine casinos. That added another $14.5 million to the state's property relief fund, bringing the total collected in the fund since the fiscal year began July 1, to $442 million.
