When the chips were down, Morgan Calabrese stepped to the forefront tonight.
The senior guard scored a game-high 19 points, including a momentum-changing jumper in the fourth quarter, to spark Nazareth Area High School's girls basketball team to a 41-28 victory over Pennsbury in a PIAA Class AAAA first-round game at Catasauqua High School.
Nazareth (24-4), the Lehigh Valley Conference and District 11 champion, advanced to Tuesday's second round against Dover, the fourth seed from District 3 and a 54-53 winner over West Chester Rustin. The site and time have yet to be determined.
