Notre Dame High School sophomore guard Gabriella "Gabby" Altmire is anything but what her nickname might imply.
Altmire scored 10 of her 14 points in the first half when the Crusaders took control and senior Shannon Moran tallied all 14 of her points in the second half as Notre Dame defeated Southern Columbia 58-36 in a PIAA Class AA tournamentfirst-round game tonight at Catasauqua High School.
The District 11 champion Crusaders (21-5) advance to meet Neumann-Goretti, a 76-37 winner over Annville-Cleona, on Tuesday at a time and site to be determined.
