FROM THE EXPRESS TIMES
The city of Bethlehem has never been considered a cradle of basketball.
History shows us that it's been a wrestling town first and foremost with the roundball game serving the role of grappling's stepchild.
The worm is slowly turning, however, and that fact is reflected in the 2012-13 Express-Times All-Area Boys Basketball team where three of the five first-team players attend the three Christmas City high schools.
For the first time in history, all three Bethlehem teams -- Liberty, Freedom and Bethlehem Catholic -- all qualified for the PIAA playoffs in the same season and a big reason why was because they all had leading men lighting the way to the postseason.
