Catty's Recker collects two hits, scores two runs in Oakland win

FROM KEITH GROLLER

Catasauqua's Anthony Recker had his biggest day in Major League Baseball on Thursday when he had two hits, reached on a walk and scored two runs in Oakland's 7-0 win over the Indians in Cleveland.

Recker, playing in his third game since being called up last Tuesday, caught all nine innings as Gio Gonzalez and Craig Breslow combined on a five-hitter.

Recker was hitting eighth in the Oakland order.

He struck out in the top of the second, walked in the top of the fifth, doubled and scored in the seventh, singled and scored in the eighth and grounded into a force in the ninth.

Recker is now hitting .273 (3-for-11) with two runs scored, two walks and four strikeouts.

Oakland now returns home for a six-game homestand against Seattle and Kansas City.
