JHS Family Camp Out 2011
Contact: jacobsburg@rcn.com for more information.
Experience the beauty of the Boulton historic site at night! Grab your tent and the family and join the Jacobsburg Historical Society for an evening under the stars on Saturday, October 8. Set up camp anytime on Saturday. Check in at the Nicholas Hawk Gun Shop at either 3 p.m. or 6 p.m. (Advanced reservations appreciated but not required!)
The $20 per family fee includes free entry to the Pennsylvania Longrifle Museum. Explore the trails of Henry's Woods on your own or join Howie White for a guided tour at 4 p.m. Campfires will be available during the dinner hour and at dusk there will be a bonfire and marshmallow roast. (Items to cook for dinner are yours to bring in; we'll provide the marshmallows!) Afterwards, Dave Ehrig will lead off storytelling around the campfire - bring your own favorite tale or song.
In the morning, Otto Dreydoppel will lead a family-friendly ecumenical worship service at 8:30 a.m. for those who wish to participate. We encourage everyone to support our neighbors at the Bushkill Volunteer Fire Department by stopping at their breakfast on Sunday, October 9th on your way home.
