Saucon Valley falls to Trinity in PIAA Class AA girls soccer semifinal match

Katie Lenz scored on a free kick that she created to give Trinity a 1-0, double overtime win over Saucon Valley in the PIAA Class AA girls soccer semifinals at Hersheypark Stadium today.

Lenz was fouled three yards from the top of the box, and hit the following free kick high into the net with 10:46 remaining in the second overtime.

Trinity will play the winner of the Donegal-Allentown Central Catholic semifinal in Friday's championship game back in Hershey.

The second half had more scoring chances for both sides than the first half. The best opportunity for the Shamrocks was Erin Kelly's shot from the top right corner of the box with under four minutes to play. Panther goalie Kelly Shoenberger got it with her fingertips.

For Saucon Valley, the best scoring chance of regulation was on a corner with 30 minutes to go, when sweeper Brinly Watts cleared a dangerous shot away from the right post.
