KEITH'S PICKS FOR WEDNESDAY'S GAMES

KEITH GROLLER'S PICKS FOR WEDNESDAY'S GAMES

After starting the high school boys basketball playoff season by going 0-for-2 on Tuesday night -- although anybody who had Nazareth beating Liberty by 14 should be hired immediately as my lottery-ticket consultant -- I am going to try to top it tonight by maybe going 0-for-4.

It will be a nice flashback back to the days of my youth when I regularly went 0-for-4 in the Lehigh Valley Midget and Lehigh Valley Knee-Hi baseball league as a light-hitting center fielder for the East Side Rams.

Batting practice? Bullets all over the place.

In the game? Foul balls were cheered.

Anyway, we'll see if we can do better with the two Colonial League and Mountain Valley Conference games tonight.

COLONIAL LEAGUE

Notre Dame 75, Southern Lehigh 66 -- Should be a fun game to watch, but Crusaders just have too many offensive weapons for the Spartans. Notre Dame scored 80-plus twice against Southern Lehigh, which willlikely make some adjustments. But unless they can put seven on the floor, this was a night for Boyle's bunch.

Northern Lehigh 60, Wilson 55 -- Covered this matchup earlier this year and the Bulldogs were on fire early and never looked back. I see a much closer game this time around. But just like in the ND-SL game, it's about the matchups and this one is not a good one for Wilson, which has to control tempo.

MOUNTAIN VALLEY CONFERENCE

Pocono Mountain East 70, Stroudsburg 63 -- Shawn Thornton does a terrific job with the Mounties, but the Cardinals have too much quickness.

Pocono Mountain West 73, E.S. North 52 -- West is now not only the favorite to win the league, but districts as well and the Panthers also bring everybody back next year.
