For the first time in recent memory, a station other than 6ABC was number one at 11 p.m., as CBS3 took the top spot in January. Here is part of an email that CBS3 general manager Jon Hitchcock sent to the newsroom:
As the January sweep concluded, we are pleased for the first time in over 15 years (or longer); CBS 3 Eyewitness News won the late news race in the Philadelphia Television market. Most importantly – on our targeted demo of A25-54. A great accomplishment and clearly reflects the dedication and commitment from everyone that contributes to building our brand and content. This success compliments a solid start to 2010 however - its imperative we remain focused to the strategies and goals each department has outlined.
One month does not reflect a year, but it does acknowledge our momentum and builds on our mission to be the #1 media resource in Philly.
