BIRTHDAY BENEFIT: Gail Hoover's 53rd Birthday Blowout Bash Event to benefit the Center for Animal Welfare and FACT (Fighting AIDS Continuously Together) runs 6:30-9:30 p.m. Friday at Mixx Night Club at the Rose Bowl in Allentown. OFF TO THE RACES: Child Care Information Services starts A Night at the Races with cocktails and a buffet at 6 p.m. March 9 at Coca-Cola Park; races begins at 6:30 p.m. Elegant casual dress and Kentucky Derby hats suggested. The event includes a hat contest, silent auction and videos of actual races. Tickets are $60 per person, $100 per couple; admission includes $15 in "funny money." Guests can "buy" a horse for $15. HAVE A HEART DINNER/DANCE: The 7th Annual Have a Heart for Children Dinner Dance, a benefit for Project Child, a program of Valley Youth House and The Fund to Benefit Children and Youth, starts at 6:30 p.m. March 9 at Hotel Bethlehem.
