http://sportsmediajournal.com/ Tiger’s Win at Congressional Gives CBS Big Ratings Boost- The Tiger factor continues when it comes to PGA Tour ratings. Yesterday’s win by Tiger Woods at the AT&T National resulted in CBS Sports getting an overnight rating of 4.6, 188% over the 1.6 rating for last year’s tournament. The rating matched the highest rating for the event seen in 2009. NBA TV has Exclusive Coverage of Selection of U.S. Basketball Team- This Saturday NBA TV will have the exclusive announcement of the make-up of the 2012 U.S. men’s basketball team. USA Basketball Selection Show presented by Burger King will be hosted by Matt Winer and analyst Steve Smith. Included in the one-program will be an interview with U.S. coach Mike Krzyzewski. The show airs Saturday at 7:00p.m. ET. NBC to Resume Fight Night Series- NBC Sports Group has reached a deal with Main Events to produce a second season of the network’s successful primetime boxing series Fight Night. The Saturday night boxing series will expand to up to 16 episodes and will showcase match-ups between some of the world’s best fighters. The first Fight Night telecast will take place December 22nd. Kenny Rice will serve as the play-by-play commentator, and will be joined by Hall-of-Fame boxing trainer Freddie Roach and cruiserweight contender B.J. Flores. Chris Mannix will serve as the ringside reporter for each telecast. Rangers/White Sox on Wednesday Night Baseball- ESPN will have still provide its Wednesday Night Baseball match-up this Fourth of July. The Texas Rangers will take on the Chicago White Sox this Wednesday beginning at 7:00p.m. ET with Dave O’Brien and Nomar Garciaparra on the call. U.S. Women’s Open Golf Begins Thursday on ESPN- ESPN will once again have early round coverage of the U.S. Women’s Open Golf Championship. The first two rounds of the tournament will take place Thursday and Friday from 4:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. ET. Terry Gannon will anchor the coverage along with Judy Rankin, Curtis Strange and Andy North. ESPN Unveils Schedule for High School Football Kickoff- ESPN has taken the wraps off its schedule of 13 games as partof its third annual ESPN High School Football Kick-Off.
