Rain wiping out key softball games

http://blogs.mcall.com/groller/ FROM KEITH GROLLER It's the final week of the regular season in softball, and, as so often happens at this time of year, Mother Nature is proving to be more dominant than any player on any team. A batch of games with playoff implications have been postponed today. In the LVC where the focus is on the wild-card position with Whitehall trying to hold off Bethlehem Catholic, among others, several games have been shifted until tomorrow. Nazareth at Whitehall and Northampton at Parkland have been shifted to Wednesday at 4 p.m. and Easton at Liberty has been moved until Friday. Still waiting word on Freedom at Becahi. In the Colonial League, Wilson's game against Saucon Valley has been moved to Saturday at 5, possibly at Pates Park if the field is open. The Warriors, who need to win two of their last four games to qualify for districts, are already playing Salisbury at 11 a.m. at Pates and would like to stay there for the Saucon Valley game if it works out. Wilson plays a pair of Notre Dames --Green Pond on Wednesday and East Stroudsburg on Thursday -- so it could have a district berth secure even before Saturday.
