NBC Finalizes Coverage of 2012 Summer Olympics

http://sportsmediajournal.com/ NBCUniversal today announced that it will provide 5,535 hours of combines coverage of the 2012 Summer Olympics in London over its varied networks. That number is nearly 2,ooo hours above its combined coverage of the 2008 Games in Beijing. The networks will provide coverage of all 32 sports and all 302 medal presentations. “We are only able to provide this level of coverage to U.S. viewers because of the unmatched array of NBCUniversal assets,” said Mark Lazarus, Chairman, NBC Sports Group in a press release. “Whether on television or online, on broadcast or cable, in English or in Spanish, NBCUniversal has the London Olympics covered, providing the American viewer with more choices than ever to watch the Games.” Here is the breakdown of the amount of coverage each network will provide and projected starting times: (All times ET) NBC: 272.5 hours (Weekdays 10:00a.m, Weekends 5:00a.m. Primetime 8:00p.m.) NBC Sports Network: 292.5 hours (Daily 4:00a.m.) MSNBC: 155.5 hours (Daily 9:00a.m.) CNBC: 73 hours (Weekdays 5:00p.m.) Bravo: 56 hours (Daily mid-morning) Telemundo: 173 hours NBCOlympics.com will stream online 3,500 total programming hours of events seen on the television networks.
