LEHIGH COUNTY

THE LOWER MACUNGIE TOWNSHIP HISTORICAL SOCIETY is hosting a historic barn tour from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. The tour begins at the Schantz barn next to the Lower Macungie Township library at 3450 Brookside Road. Greg Huber, who has written extensively on barns, will give a presentation to begin the tour. By 10:30 a.m., participants will be able to go on a self-guided tour of six barns. The cost is $15 for adults, $12 for adults if they pay for two or more registrants at the same time, $12 for seniors and $6 for children between the ages of 6 and 16. Reservations and payment be made at the Lower Macungie Township Library's information or circulations desks.

ALLENTOWN'S 250TH CELEBRATION will hold a meeting at the 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Lehigh Consistory, 1533 W. Hamilton St., and 7 p.m. Wednesday at South Mountain Middle School, 709 W. Emmaus Ave. Information will be provided about the city's 250th Celebration as well as information on how to get involved with the many activities and initiatives that will be held in 2012. NORTHAMPTON COUNTY

BERTSCH-HOKENDAUQUA-CATASAUQUA WATERSHED ASSOCIATION will hold a free educational nature walk and butterfly tagging program 10 a.m. Saturday on the grounds of the Mary Immaculate Center in Lehigh Township. THE OUTDOOR FILM ADVENTURES, which have been shown for the past 62 years at Moravian College, will continue this year at the Pennsylvania Playhouse, Illick's Mill Road, Bethlehem. KUTZTOWN UNIVERSITY and the Borough of Kutztown () will hold a training session for volunteers 7 p.m. Wednesday at the University's Academic Forum building, room 101.KUBoK is a volunteer coalition of community residents, students, faculty and staff working and walking together to maintain Kutztown as a safe and friendly community. BUCKS AND MONTGOMERY COUNTIES

THE PEAK CENTER, 315 W. Main St., Lansdale, will host a gentlemen's breakfast 9 a.m. Thursday. The cost is $2.50. DELAWARE CANAL STATE PARK will host a full moon paddle program 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Monday at the Giving Pond Recreation Area, Route 32, Upper Black Eddy. Participants will learn paddling basics and tour the recreation area. The cost, which includes boat, paddles and life jacket, is $10. Family discounts are available. MONROE AND SCHUYLKILL COUNTIES

MONROE COUNTY ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION CENTER, 8050 Running Valley Road, Hamilton Township, will hold a program on in-stream invertebrates 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday. Participants will get an up-close look at live insects and other critters that spend part of their life cycle in local streams. The cost is $5; $3 for MCEEC members and children under 12. A walk through the Tannersville Bog will be held 1 to 3:30 p.m. Sept. 18. The cost is $5; $3 for MCEEC or Nature Conservancy members, as well as children under 12. TUSCARORA STATE PARK, 687 Tuscarora Park Road, Barnesville, will be the site of a PA Successful Bowhunting course 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Hosted by the Pennsylvania Game Commission, the course consists of online and practical portions. Students are responsible for supplying their own bow and arrows for the practical portion.
