Heavy rain, flooding closes or restricts some Lehigh Valley roads - UPDATE

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced the following state road closures and restrictions as of 5 this evening:

Northampton County

* Green Pond Road between Farmersville Road and South Country Club Road in Bethlehem Township due to flooding (this week’s rain);
* Lehigh Drive between Hugh Moore Park Road in West Easton and Adamson Street in Easton due to flooding (this week’s rain).
* Route 512 between Jaindl Boulevard in Hanover Township and Jacksonville Road in East Allen Township.
* Route 512 between Main Street in Bath and Sterners Way/Hanoverville Road n Hanover Township.
* Route 33 South is restricted to one lane between Routes 191 and 248 due to a sinkhole in the shoulder.

Lehigh County

* Fairview Road between Emmaus Avenue and Susquehanna Street in Salisbury Township due to damage to a box culvert (Hurricane Irene);
* Schochary Road between Flint Hill Road and Zeisloff Road in Lynn Township due to road inspection after flooding due to a downed utility line (Hurricane Irene);
* Neff's Laury Road between Scheidy's and Riverview roads in North Whitehall Township.
* Indian Creek/Mountain Road between Allen Street and Route 29/Cedar Crest Boulevard in Upper Milford Township due to flooding (this week’s rain);
* Spring Creek Road between Route 100 and Mill Creek Road in Lower Macungie Township due to flooding (this week’s rain);
* Mosserville/Mountain Road between Rextown Road and Lehigh Gap Boulevard in Washington Township due to flooding (this week’s rain);
* Cetronia Road between Trexlertown and Grange roads in Upper Macungie Township due to flooding (this week's rain);
* Center Valley Parkway between Route 309 and East Saucon Valley Road in Upper Saucon Township due to flooding (this week’s rain).
* Hilltop/Mertztown Road between the Berks County line and Mertztown Road in Lower Macungie Township.
* Schantz Road between Hamilton Boulevard in Lower Macungie Township and Cetronia Road in Upper Macungie Township.

Monroe County

* Marshalls Creek Road between Brushy Mountain and Wooddale roads in Middle Smithfield Township due to a downed tree in utility wires (this week’s rain);
* Cherry Valley Road between Fenner Lane in Stroud Township and Stonehouse Road in Smithfield Township,
