Bit-by-Bit Equestrian students successfully compete in national dressage event

FROM THE EXPRESS TIMES

Students from Bit-By-Bit Equestrian Center in Bushkill Township celebrated success and showed their team spirit at the United States Dressage Federation Region 1 Youth Team Competition held July 23 and 24 in Leesburg, Va.

Dressage is a French term, translated to mean training, and is recognized as an Olympic sport.

Danielle Marino and her horse My Last Good Fortune competed at Second Level and secured a fourth-place slot for her team. Elizabeth Hochmiller and her pony Daddy’s Dollars won Reserve Champion at Training Level individually and led her team to a second-place win. Both students were selected and sponsored in this show by the Eastern States Dressage and Combined Training Association. The girls competed against other teams from Delaware, District of Columbia, Maryland, North Carolina, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia.

The girls are coached by Melissa Morehouse, whose show team members have been selected to compete at the USDF Region 1 Youth Dressage Team Championships for the past three years.
