Eastern Pennsylvania and northwestern and central New Jersey are under a tornado watch until 8 tonight, according to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, N.J. The watch area includes Long Pond, Pa., where Pocono Raceway today is hosting NASCAR's Gilette Fusion ProGlide 500 Presented by Target.
The forecast also carries what the weather service calls a moderate risk of severe thunderstorms "capable of producing frequent cloud-to-ground lightning, hail and heavy rain."
