NBC’s Coverage of Day 9 at the 2012 Olympics

Through one week (8 nights), NBC is averaging 34.5 million viewers and a 19.2 household rating, The audience is 4.4 million more than 2008 and nearly 8 million more than 2004. The rating is 10% higher than 2008 and 20% higher than 2004. Both numbers are the highest for a non-U.S. hosted Olympics since 1976. NBC also announced that tonight at 7:00p.m. ET it will air Michael Phelps: America’s Golden Champion, a special, intimate look at 18-time gold medalist and 22-time overall Olympic medalist. Phelps sat down with Bob Costas for an exclusive interview.
