71 coaches set to make their Pennsylvania football coaching debuts this weekend

http://blogs.mcall.com/groller/ FROM KEITH GROLLER If you're a a Pennsylvania scholastic football fan, the book you must have is the 2012 Pennsylvania Football News Resource Guide put out by longtime high school gurus Rich Vetock and Tom Elling. To order the book, go to their website -- www.pafootballnews.com The resource guide is chock full of great information, spread over 416 pages. One of the many interesting things they haveis a listing of all the new head football coaches in Pennsylania this year. We've had more than our share of changes around here, but it seems like there's a lot of turnover all over the state as football -- like every high school sport -- is now a 12-month-a-year deal and there's a prominent burnout factor that didn't exist years ago. There are other factors as well, of course, like meddling parents for example. But the days of the 30-year coaching career at one school seems over. Not of all these guys are new head coaches because guys like George Curry, Brian Gilbert and Kevin Ronalds have been head coaches before. They are in new positions from last season. Anyway, here's the list of new head coaches in Pennsylvania football this season with districts in parentheses: Allentown Central Catholic (11): John Cupples. Altoona Area (6): John Franco Bishop Carroll (6): Greg Snyder Bentworth (7): Bob Niziol Berwick Area (2): George Curry Burgettstown (7): Terry Havelka Charleroi (7): Ed Jenkins Cochranton (10): Nate Liberty Cowanesque Valley (4): James Burns Dallas Area (2): Bob Zaruta Daniel Boone (3): Bill Parks East Allegheny (7): Jason Ruscitto Everett Area (5): Mark Kirk Fairfield (3): Darwin Seiler Fort Cherry (7): Jim Shiel Geibel Catholic (7): Sean Benjamin Germantown Academy (Ind): Matt Dence Gettysburg (3): Matt Heiser Glendale (6): Matt Irvine Hanover (3): Mike Ketterman Hempfield Area (7): Rich Bowen Huntingdon Area (6): Michael Hudy Imhotep Charter (12): Albie Crosby James Buchanan (3): Andy Stoner Jersey Shore (4): Tom Gravish Kane Area (9): Todd Silfies Keystone Oaks (7): Matt Taylor Kiski Area (7): Dave Heavner Kittanning (7): Frank Fabian Lansdale Catholic (12): Tom Kirk Lehighton (11): Tom McCarroll Lewisburg (4): Jeremy Winn.
