Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area visitor bit by rabid beaver, authorities say

Superintendent John J. Donahue announced this afternoon that the park visitor was bitten by the animal while swimming in the Delaware River just south of Eshback Access. The animal later was tested for rabies and the test came up positive, he said. The park did not disclose details about the visitor who was bitten.
