As a high school student, the Nazareth Area School District’s new leader gave up a college arts scholarship to become an educator.
A musician, Dennis Riker, 49, of Pen Arygl, put down the guitar after graduating from Pen Argyl Area High School and turned down a full scholarship to The Art Institute in Pittsburgh because he wanted to teach.
