Eagles rout of Cowboys watched by 23 million

FROM KEITH GROLLER

The Eagles-Cowboys game on Sunday night wasn't competitive, certainly not after halftime.

However, the game delivered a solid showing in the ratings for NBC, which was coming off a dismal ratings performance the previous week when the Saints clobbered the Colts and was beaten by Game 4 of the World Series.

The Eagles' 34-7 win generated an audience of 23 million, 27 percent higher than last year's Week 8 Sunday nighter between the Steelers and Saints, which was matched against the fourth game of the Giants-Rangers World Series.

Through eight weeks, SNF is averaging 21.3 million, the second-most in the six-year history of Sunday Night Football and just one percent lower than last year’s series-high of 21.5 million through eight weeks.

And, in the key adult age 18-49 demographic, Sunday Night Football was the No.1 show of the week and is No. 1 in the entire primetime television season.
