49ers-Ravens set a record for The NFL Network

FROM KEITH GROLLER

The Harbaughs going head-to-head on Thanksgiving Night proved to be the perfect formula for TV viewers.

The NFL Network has sent out a release on Friday saying that the 49ers-Ravens game produced an audience of 10.7 million, which makes it the most watched game in the eight-year history of The NFL Network history.

And that total doesn't include viewership totals from the over-the-air stations in both San Francisco and Baltimore. The NFL allows each city involved to find an alternate outlet for the Thursday night games for fans who don't have cable packages that include The NFL Network.

According to the release, it was also the most-watched cable program ever on Thanksgiving (at least since the Nielsen Company began gauging cable audiences in 1994).

The 49ers-Ravens game proved to be 50 percent more popular than last year's Thanksgiving Night game between the Jets and Bengals, which drew 7.1 million viewers.
