Nazareth Area High School football team to get community sendoff for PIAA playoff game

FROM THE EXPRESS TIMES

Nazareth Area High School wants to spread the word to students, alumni and the community to help send off the football team Saturday on its way to its PIAA playoff game.

Organizers are hoping for folks to gather about 10:15 a.m. starting at Victory Lane and East Center Street and line both sides of East Center Street to Broad Street.

Team buses will leave 10:30 a.m. for Bethlehem Area School District Stadium, where the District 11 Class AAAA champion Blue Eagles will play La Salle College High School at 1 p.m. in the state quarterfinal playoffs.

Vigilance Hose Co. No. 1 is getting in on the action.

Chief Carl Strye Jr. said firetrucks will lead the team buses out of the school to Broad Street, then pull off the route in front of the firehouse.

Nazareth advanced to the quarterfinals with its 28-21 triumph over Easton Area High School last week.
