Those who saw him play in the playoffs against Parkland should not be surprised that Stroudsburg quarterback/defensive ack Rob Bennie was a unanimous choice as the Mountain Valley Conference player of the year. He was the key man behind the Mounties rise to MVC champs and a 9-3 record.
Bennie, who is headed to the University of Virginia on a baseball scholarship, passed for 1,139 yards and seven thocuhdowns this season while also running for 1,657 yards and 19 touchdowns.
He finished his career with 3,198 yards rushing and 32 scores, while passing for 1,139 yards and seven more TDs.
