Freshman Darrun Hilliard of Liberty High School scored nine points in his collegiate debut Saturday for Villanova University in the Wildcats' 106-70 men's basketball victory over Monmouth.
Hilliard, a two-time Express-Times Player of the Year, started at guard for coach Jay Wright's Wildcats. He was 2-for-3 from 3-point range and 3-for-6 overall in 17 minutes. He had three rebounds, two assists and no turnovers.
Dominic Cheek led Villanova (1-0) with 27 points followed by Mouphtaou Yarou with 24 and Maalik Wayns with 15.
