LEHIGH COUNTY

EMMAUS MORAVIAN CHURCH will be accepting orders for Moravian sugar cake and lovefeast buns. To order sugar cakes which are $4 each and buns which are $6 a dozen, call 610-965-6067 by Wednesday. Pickup will be 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 15.

LEHIGH COUNTY GOVERNMENT CENTER, 17 S. Seventh St., Allentown, will host a community based provider expo noon to 2 p.m. Friday. About 40 organizations will showcase programs and services they provide to children, young adults and families. The purpose of the Expo is to share the vast and diverse array of children and family services available for Lehigh County residents. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet with agency representatives. Program brochures and other related information will be available.

NORTHAMPTON COUNTY

FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 333 Spring Garden St., Easton, is accepting orders for its homemade apple pie and applesauce sale until Monday. The cost is $9 per pie; $4 per quart of applesauce. A fish and chips dinner catered by Argyle Restaurant of Kearny, N.J., will be held 4:30-7 p.m. Saturday. The dinner includes homemade coleslaw and apple cobbler. HANOVER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, 3890 Jacksonville Road, Hanover Township, will be the site of a property tax town hall meeting 7 p.m. Thursday. Hosted by State Reps. Marcia Hahn and Julie Harhart, the history of property taxes and challenges in addressing the issue will be discussed. Individuals will have an opportunity to voice their concerns. BUCKS COUNTY HORSE PARK, 8934 Easton Road, Revere, will be the site of a road rally, beef barbecue and bonfire to benefit Hurricane Irene repairs to the park Saturday, Oct. 15. The road rally begins at 3 p.m. at the park. Participant should pick up a map for the 1 to 1.5-hour course, which will take them by car between supporting barns. Tickets should be obtained at each barn to earn points. Prizes will be awarded in a variety of categories. The barbecue begins with snacks at 5 p.m.; dinner served at 6 p.m. Bonfire begins at 7 p.m. Barbecue tickets, if purchased before Wednesday, are $35; $17 for children under 16. BUCKS COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION and Friends of Churchville Nature Center, 501 Churchville Lane, will hold a leather mask making workshop 7-9 p.m. Wednesday and Oct. 19. TAMAQUA HISTORICAL SOCIETY will hold the 27th annual Tamaqua Heritage Festival 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9 in downtown Tamaqua. One-hour round-trip scenic train rides from the Tamaqua Railroad Station will be offered at 11 a.m. and 1 and 3 p.m. Other activities include free historical tours of the 1801 Moser log home, 302 E. Broad St.; blacksmithing demonstration at the Hegarty Blacksmith Shop, Hegarty Avenue; open house at Tamaqua Historical Society Museum, 118 W. Broad St.; and an antique and classic car show on South Railroad Street (registrations accepted day of event).
