AMERICA ON WHEELS Allentown needs the following volunteers: servers at the '50's Café counter; assistant for the Toys for Tots Holiday Train; gift shop and admissions assistants and a floater to help wherever needed. CEDARBROOK NURSING HOMES needs the following volunteers: pinochle players 1-3:30 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays at its South Whitehall Township facility and 10-11:30 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays at its Fountain Hill facility. Also, at the South Whitehall Township, volunteers are needed to walk male residents; also to transport residents to in-house beauty shop and physical therapy appointments and to assist in the Gift Shop from 12:30-3:30 p.m. daily. City Line HISTORIC BETHLEHEM PARTNERSHIP needs helpers to prune, sweep, clean, and landscape at the six-acre Burnside Plantation 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 25 and 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 29. Contact: Megan vanRavenswaay, 610-882-0450 ext. 20, mvravenswaay@historicbethlehem.org.

HOLIDAY HOPE CHESTS, Bethlehem, coordinated by the Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley, needs volunteers to fill shoe boxes with age appropriate items for the Lehigh Valley's less fortunate children. To participate, go to http://www.volunteerlv.org and fill out the Holiday Hope Chest Donation Registration form. Our collection goal for this year is 4,000 Holiday Hope Chests. Filled shoe boxes may be dropped off at 2121 City Line Road, Bethlehem on 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. or 3-6 p.m. Nov. 29 and 30 and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 1 and 2. PHOEBE HOME NURSING AND REHABILATION CENTER, Allentown, needs volunteers to assist its memory-support units with its Alzheimer and dementia residents. SHARE CARE FAITH IN ACTION, Bethlehem needs volunteers to assist clients in Lehigh and Northampton counties. Volunteers are needed to transport clients to and from doctor visits and to help clients with their grocery shopping. Mileage reimbursement and flexible schedules are offered.
