Despite impressive win, Lehigh drops in one national poll; Lum is league's offensive player of week

FROM KEITH GROLLER

Despite a 49-24 win over Monmouth on Saturday, Lehigh dropped from No. 13 to No. 14 in The Sports Network/Fathead.com national poll for FCS level teams. Richmond and Sacramento State both made huge leaps after both defeated Bowl Subdivision teams. Richmond beat Duke 23-21 and Sacramento State edged Oregon State 29-28 in overtime.

Lehigh's opponent on Saturday at Goodman Stadium, New Hampshire, dropped from No. 10 to No. 13 after a lopsided loss to Toledo (see the complete poll below).

Also, Lehigh quarterback Chris Lum was named the Patriot League's offensive player of the week and the Sports Network's FCS national co-offensive player of the week after what was arguably his best day as a Mountain Hawk on Saturday. Lum was 22-of-34 passing for 346 yards and four touchdowns. The four touchdown passes were a career high, and Lum recorded his second-straight 300-yard passing game and third of his career. He also ran for 27 yards to notch 373 yards of total offense in the game, the sixth-highest total in the country over the weekend. This is the third time he has won the Patriot League offensive award.
