CBS3 and CWPhilly Fall Schedule Highlights

Philadelphia, September 7, 2011 – The 2011-12 Television Season, debuting this month, will bring new excitement to CBS 3 and The CW Philly with a celebrity-studded daytime schedule including the debut of Anderson Cooper’s new daytime talker, Anderson, on CBS 3 and the launch of Dr. Drew Pinksy’s new show, Dr. Drew’s Lifechangers, on The CW Philly.

New additions to the local stations’ schedules, combined with the networks’ much-anticipated debut of Ashton Kutcher on CBS’s Two and a Half Men, the return of Sara Michelle Gellar to TV on The CW show Ringer, the continuation of the story line on CBS’s The Good Wife and Ted Danson joining the cast of CSI, promises an exciting entertaining season.

Dr. Phil, the new leader in daytime talk, will kick off his 10th season on Monday, September 12, 4 p.m. on CBS 3 with Dr. Phil McGraw’s exclusive interview with George and Cindy Anthony, the parents of Casey Anthony. Also on tap during premiere week is Dr. Phil’s follow up with Ted Williams, the homeless broadcast announcer who achieved national attention when an interview with him went viral on YouTube.

That same Monday, September 12, CBS 3 will welcome Anderson Cooper to the station’s schedule. Anderson, the award-winning journalist’s nationally-syndicated daily one-hour talk program, will debut 9-10 a.m. on the station. Cooper’s guests in his premiere week include: the parents and boyfriend of the late Grammy winner Amy Winehouse; Comedian Kathy Griffin; the Jersey Shore’s Snooki; Harry Potter’s Daniel Radcliffe; Sarah Jessica Parker, and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills who, among other topics, will talk about the recent suicide of castmate Taylor Armstrong’s husband.

On the CW side of the house, Excused, a hilarious new dating show that combines the best elements of stand-up comedy, reality shows and dating games, also debuts September 12 on The CW Philly weeknights, 6-6:30 p.m. Iliza Shlesinger, the youngest and first female winner of Last Comic Standing, is the host.

The following week, The Jeremy Kyle Show will debut at 2 p.m. on Monday, September 19 on The CW Philly. Jeremy Kyle, England’s number one talk show personality, hosts the one hour program.

That same day, The CW Network is debuting Dr. Drew Pinksy’s new show, Dr. Drew’s Lifechangers which will air weekdays at 3 and 3:30 p.m. on The CW Philly. Each half-hour program focuses on one person for whom Dr. Drew will bring in a range of experts to help that person on the path to a “life change.”

Other shows new to The CW Philly schedule include Law & Order: Criminal Intent which airs weekdays at 10 a.m. and midnight and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, airing weeknights at 11 p.m.

For night owls, a local note – watch for Live from Daryl’s House, Daryl Hall’s syndicated jam sessions with his famous friends, airing on CBS 3 late nights on Saturday (2:05 a.m. Sunday).
