Pen Argyl seeking head coaches for boys basketball and wrestling

FROM KEITH GROLLER

As we posted here on Monday night, Michael Frew is expected to be announced today as Bethlehem Catholic's new boys basketball coach.

Since Frew had been Pen Argyl's coach, the Green Knights have an opening.

That was confirmed today when Pen Argyl athletic director Dwight Repsher sent out an e-mail saying that the boys basketball job, and wrestling job, were both open.

Frew, a former Moravian College player and assistant coach, was 22-68 in four seasons.

With wrestling, Scott Kupec resigned abruptly in February without doing interviews. This came right after the Green Knights had reached the District 11 Class 2A duals finals.

Principal John Smith cited "health and stress" reasons as the cause for Kupec's resignation.

The rest of the staff, including former coach Darrin Evans, and assistants Scott Desmond and Jason Grim, got the team through the rest of the season. Evans' son, Dylan, was on the team.

Here are the details for those who wish to apply for either position.
