Freemanburg at Palmer Game Recap on Monday July 21
Matt Emrick scattered six hits and picked three runners off base as Freemansburg edged top-seeded Palmer, 1-0, in the Northampton County Legion baseball championship game at Fairview Park in Palmer Township.
Blake Shortall doubled in the only run of the game in the seventh inning.
Freemansburg, the No. 2 seed in the Northampton County tournament, advances to the state legion tournament which begins Saturday. Freemansburg will meet the second-place team from the Bux-Mont League at 9:45 a.m. in Coplay.
Congratulations to Freemansburg for winning the 2008 NORCO Title!!!
It is their first title since 1990. They will now be representing the league as the lone entry into the Region 2 tournament which begins Saturday at Sammy Baliet Field in Coplay.
