FROM LAFAYETTE
EASTON, Pa. – Patrick Puentes led Holy Cross with two home runs and hit for the cycle as the Crusaders defeated Lafayette 23-4 in game two of Sunday’s doubleheader at Kamine Stadium. The victory came after the visitors won game one 7-6 and took three of four on the weekend.
Holy Cross (14-16, 6-2) pounced on Lafayette (6-24, 3-4) in the first inning when Puentes brought home Andrew Barry from first base with an RBI double to the gap in left center field. The run came against Leopards’ starting pitcher Alex Farina, who stranded Puentes at third with a strikeout and a groundout to end the frame.
