Disney and Cablevision Announce New Distribution Deal- Walt Disney Company and Cablevision today announced a new multi-year distribution deal which includes the continued carrying of the networks of ESPN. The new deal includes the availability of WatchESPN for Cablevision subscribers.
Golf Channel Continues to See Strong Viewership Through the Third Quarter- The Golf Channel reports it had its most-watched September and most-watched third quarter ever. The network averaged 120,000 veiwers for September, up 58% over 2011. In the third quarter Golf Channel averaged 102,000 viewers, a 20% bump over 2011.
College Football Twin Bill this Weekend on CBS- CBS Sports will air a college football double header this Saturday. Coverage begins at 11:30a.m. as Navy takes on Air Force. Spero Dedes, Steve Beuerlein and Otis Livingston handle the call . The SEC telecast will feature the LSU at Florida at 3:30p.m. ET. Verne Sundquist, Gary Danielson, and Tracy Wolfson will be at the mic.
Broke Highest Rated 30 for 30 Documentary Ever on ESPN- ESPN announced today that Tuesday Night’s 30 for 30 documentary Broke was the most watched film in the history of the series. The program generated a 1.9 rating with an average audience of 2.7 million viewers.
ESPN to Get Jump At Predicting BCS Standings- ESPN will be producing a special edition of BCS Countdown this Sunday, one week before the official first unveiling of the college football BCS standings. Rece Davis will host with analysts, Jesse Palmer, David Pollack and Kirk Herbstreit begginning at 8:30p.m. on ESPN.
NBCSN Premiere’s Children’s Program Tomorrow- The NBC Sports Network (NBCSN) will debut The Whistle, a sports anthology series targeted toward children tomorrow at 4:00p.m. ET. Among the segment on the inaugural show are interviews with the Packers’ Aaron Rodgers and the Giants’ Eli Manning; tips on how to dunk from the Harlem Globetrotters; and advice from skateboard star Manny Santiago.
WNBA Conference Finals Begin Tonight- The WNBA Conference Finals begin tonight on ESPN2 as the Western Conference gets started with Minnesota hosting Los Angeles in game one at 8:00p.m. ET. Pam Ward, Rebecca, Lobo, and Holly Rowe have the call. Game one of the Eastern Conference Finals between Indiana and Connecticut gets underway Friday at 8:00p.m. also on ESPN2 ET. Kevin Connors, Carolyn Peck and LaChina Robinson will be on site. Game two of the Western Conference Finals will be Sunday at 3:30p.m. ET on ABC while game two out east will be Monday at 8:00p.m. ET on ESPN2. If needed the deciding game threes will be played Wednesday (West) and Thursday (East) on ESPN2.
ESPN has Premiere League Saturday, MLS Sunday- The Barclay’s Premier League returns to ESPN2 Saturday a7 7:30a.m. ET as Manchester City hosts Sunderland FC with Ian Darke and Steve McManaman at the mic. Sunday at 9:00p.m. ET on ESPN Adrian Healey, Taylor Twellman and Alexi Lalas will have the call of the MLS as Seattle takes on Portland.
