Dick Tracy and Bob Gehris, who worked lots of high school football and basketball games together on the cable formerly known as Twin County, will be reunited on a special show of Chris Michael's "SportsTalk" on Thursday night.
The show runs from 6 to 7 on RCN-4 and viewers can participate by calling 610-443-2766. They can win prizes and free Video-on-demand movies and special event certificates. They can also get their comments heard on twitter @sportstalklv or facebook (keyword; Chris Michael - Sportstalk).
Tracy began his broadcasting career on Aug. 8, 1970 and Gehris began about the same time. The two teamed up for many high school football and basketball broadcasts through the 1970s and 1980s. They last worked together in the mid-1990s when Gehris retired.
Of course, when Tracy returned to coaching basketball -- twice at Whitehall and later at Becahi -- Gary Laubach worked the games with Gehris and Laubach is still the lead voice on RCN-4 broadcasts.
Bottom line is that this should be a fun trip down memory lane for two guys who loved the local high school sports scene.
