We wrap up our news segment by exploring the dwindling coverage of hockey on ESPN and the slow start to the newly branded NBC Sports Network.
Our guest this week is Frank Shorr, professor of Broadcast Sports and Sports Journalism at Boston University. Frank also worked as an Executive Producer in sports at WHDH TV in Boston. Frank discusses the ever shrinking time allotted to some local television sportscasts, how it needs to evolve, and how he is teaching students to succeed in sports television today. Frank also talks about his role as the Director of the Sports Institute, a summer program for aspiring sports journalists.
