Anthony Gonzalez sparks University of Pittsburgh football team in win over Syracuse

Anthony Gonzalez of Liberty High School lined up at quarterback in the Wildcat formation for the first time this season for the University of Pittsburgh and rushed for 39 yards and a 17-yard touchdown in the Panthers' 33-20 win over Syracuse on Saturday. Gonzalez, who had played wide receiver previously this season, was 0-for-1 passing. WR Devin Street (Liberty) caught 5 passes for 70 yards. DB Jarred Holley (Easton) recorded 6 tackles for Pitt. WR Jarrod West (Liberty) had 2 catches for 12 yards for Syracuse

Garrett Williamson (Hunterdon Central) started at center for Maine in a 34-12 win over Appalachian State in the NCAA FCS playoffs. ... WR Joey Orlando (Liberty) caught 5 passes for 62 yards for New Hampshire in a 26-25 loss to Montana State in the FCS playoffs. Mike Coccia (Freedom) started at center for UNH.

LB Billy Boyko (Northampton) had 2 tackles for Lehigh in a 40-38 win over Towson in the FCS playoffs. Matt Lippincott (Wilson) started at guard for the Mountain Hawks and Kyle Lechner (Delaware Valley) was the long snapper.

DB Isiaah Wright (Freedom) played but had no stats for James Madison in a 26-14 FCS playoff loss to North Dakota State. ... LB Luke Maginnis (Warren Hills) made a tackle for Wesley in a 27-24 win over Mary Hardin-Baylor in the Division III playoffs.
