Nazareth Area High School second after first day of Bethlehem Holiday Wrestling Classic

FROM THE EXPRESS TIMES

Semifinalists Tyrone Klump (106 pounds), Chase Zemenak (126) and Aaron Bradley (220) helped push the Nazareth Area High School wrestling team into second place following the opening day of the Bethlehem Holiday Wrestling Classic at Liberty High School.

The Blue Eagles racked up 103 points to trail only Wyoming Seminary (132). Phillipsburg is third with 93 points but four semifinalists, Max Elling (126), Jim Schuitema (132), Brandon Hull (220) and Anthony Pare (285).

"It was nice not have so many wrestlers seeded so we got lots of matches and were able to score a lot of advancement points," deadpanned Nazareth coach Dave Crowell, whose team was tied for first with Seminary after two rounds.

Other local semifinalists who will wrestle in Thursday's 10:30 a.m. round (consolation finals are at 5 p.m. and championship finals at 7) are Pen Argyl's Mike Racciato (145), Dylan Evans (182) and Kirby Mutton (285), Liberty's Grimaldi Gonzalez (120) and Devon Lotito (132), Northampton's Jason Stephen (138) and Cole Sheptock (152) and Saucon Valley's Ray O'Donnell (195).
